My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
“I am always humbled by your beautiful witness to our Catholic faith in your ministries and in your daily lives. Your generous love for God and our neighbors inspires me and gives me hope.
Love is the measure of our faith in Jesus Christ. 
And our love must be concrete. We must show our love in works of love. We are doing this every day in our parishes, schools, charities and ministries. Through our works of love, we are showing our faith and making God’s love known to the people in our world.
So I ask you — please continue to express your love for Christ by giving generously to this year’s Together in Mission collection.
Your contributions to Together in Mission provide essential resources to parishes and schools that are most in need in our great Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Through your generosity to this collection, you bear witness to our most disadvantaged neighbors that our Christian love never fails.
Our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI has declared this a Year of Faith. And we must make it a time to renew our love for Jesus Christ and our love for our brothers and sisters.
Through our witness of love, let us make this truly a City of the Angels — a city of love and truth, where all can know that God is near in his love, and where the horizons of every life are open to his promise of salvation.
